Monthly Tournament Rules

We have two monthly tournament formats and they will alternate. One format will be divisions Open, Advanced, and Intermediate. The other format will be Advanced, Intermediate, Novice, and Women.

On the monthly tournaments that have a women’s division, there will be slots held for women players up until 15 min prior to play time. If the women’s div has not filled up at this point, intermediate and novice players will fill in to round out the 48 player maximum. This is to ensure novice and intermediate players don’t crowd out the women players.

Tournaments will begin at 8:00 AM.

Monthly fees:
Open – $15
Advanced – $12.50
Intermediate – $10
Novice – $7.50
Women – $5

Monthly tournaments are limited to the first 48 entrants ( no exceptions). Due to the uncertain nature of when or if a given tournament will fill up early the following rules will be instituted beginning with the March 2003 monthly.

1. As the monthlies are designed for the benefit and enjoyment of all levels of playing abilities no category (Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, or Open) will be allowed to exceed 18 players before 7:45 a.m. on day of registration.

2. If a player lives a distance from the course and wishes to play he may call and reserve a spot. If the tournament has not yet filled his name will be added to the list.  He must then arrive at and be ready to play by 7:45 a.m.

If a player fails to arrive on time to play (7:45 a.m.) who has either called ahead or was signed up by a friend and reserved a spot in the first 48, his spot will be given to the first person on the waiting list and he will forfeit his right to be able to call ahead in the future and reserve a spot.

As all player’s rights to be able to play in the monthlies are equal regardless of their playing ability we feel this will more fairly allow each individual a chance to play in the monthly.

Note: Any novice with any under par round must move up to intermediate in the next tournament. Any intermediate player with a total of -8 or better moves to advanced. Any advanced player with a total of -12 or better moves to open.
